Much of my research focuses on sub-Saharan Africa and I am particularly interested in issues relating to:
The implementation of international children’s rights standards in resource-poor contexts and the challenges these present for governance;
Children’s rights and cultural values such as reciprocity, respect and responsibility;
The socialization of children and changing parent-child relations and the implications for children’s welfare and rights;
Children’s right to express their opinions and participate in decision-making in non-Western societies.
