Thesis Title: This Butcher's Cur: Sixteenth Century Literary Images of Thomas Cardinal Wolsey

Prof. Cathy Shrank
Dr. Marcus Nevitt
Prof. Sylvia Adamson

About

I study a broad range of 16th century literary characterizations and images of Thomas Cardinal Wolsey (c.1471-1530), ranging from early- and mid-Tudor poetry to the Elizabethan Protestant chroniclers and Shakespeare's Henry VIII.  I'm also interested in Tudor polemical literature/biography/historiography and early modern manuscript culture.
