About
I am a PhD student at the University of Sheffield. My thesis focuses on the functions of Sheffield dialect representation in the writing of C20th writers from coal-mining backgrounds. My research interests include orthography, dialectology, culture studies, and working-class literature.
I am currently employed as the research assistant for the AHRC funded 'Language as Talisman' Connected Communities research project, under the supervision of Kate Pahl, and I teach on the 'Practical Stylistics' and 'Introduction to Advanced Literary Studies: Drama and Poetry' modules at the University of Sheffield
I am also involved as a research assistant on the Sheffield Voices Project (http://sheffieldvoices.group.shef.ac.uk/)
