Thesis Title: Un roman déguisé : camouflages littéraires et ses enjeux dans une analyse d’Ipomédon de Hue de Rotelande

Prof. Penny Eley

About

I am a PhD student at the University of Sheffield and I am currently working on Hue de Rotelande's Ipomedon, a 12th century chivalric poem. I have just finished the dissertation for my master degree at the University of Geneva (département de littératures latines et médiévales) on  "La quête identitaire de Prothéselaüs de Hue de Rotélande".
I have achieved a master degree in Medieval French in Sheffield in 2006 (with distinction), studying the role of hunting in the early vernacular French literature, especially in Hue de Rotelande's Ipomedon.
As you can see, Hue de Rotelande is my main source of inspiration!

My background and interests cover a wide range of philology-related topics, running from Medieval Italian literature and linguistics through history and manuscript studies. However, my main research interest is the use of comedy (parody and satire) in Old French vernacular texts.

I am also keen on using technology in arts and literature and with my husband, Dr. Gianluca Tempesti (Department of Electronics, University of York, UK), we are currently thinking of a new way to use bio-inspired electronics in Medieval Studies. If the project is accepted, I will let you know :)

I currently speak Italian, French and my English is not so bad.
