About
My research focuses on the concept of social empowerment within the framework of social quality. Social quality is concerned with measuring the key elements of socio-economic security, social inclusion, social cohesion and social empowerment within society.
The research centres on the empowering aspects of forms of participatory democracy in workplaces, co-operatives and community organisations. The aim of the research is to establish a theoretically and empirically informed basis for the benefits that participatory democracy can have for the quality of social life.
This project is funded by the ESRC. For more on social quality visit: http://www.socialquality.org/
